Hotel History

In the early 70's, the construction of the hotel started on the ground of Monaco's first train station. Design and construction of the hotel was challenging. The goal was to incorporate an impressive complex of 60,000 square meters into a Principality of 400 hectares. Building out into the Mediterranean coast rather than build up was determined to be the best solution for this project. It gave birth to a modern seven-story building with a singular geometric architecture overhanging the Mediterranean Sea. As for Monte Carlo's old train station, the last evidence is the section of a wall hidden in the hotel's offices.

In August 1975, Her Highness Princess Grace inaugurated the opening of this new hotel called at the time the Loews Monte Carlo. The completion of this convention resort gave a new dimension to tourism in Monaco offering the possibility to welcome substantial travel business.

The hotel has contributed to the development of the Principality of Monaco in the 20th century. Furthermore, this hotel complex continues to promote the expansion of high profile business tourism in collaboration with the Grimaldi Forum.
