The Grand Hotel Continental et des Bains was a proud and imposing building on Boulevard Felix-Martin, which was named after the former mayor.
Hilarion SEQUIER, the owner, hosted worl famous personalities in his establishment.
That was 100 years ago, when the sound of horse's hoofs echoed on the paving stones of the promenade.
On the ground floor, two vast dining rooms were arranged in the shape of a rotunda.
The more refined fo the two was the "Café-Restaurant".
Clémenceau, the deputy of the Var, had his table there. An other habitue was Marschal LYAUTEY.
During World War I, the French army's General Staff stayed at the Hotel CONTINENTAL.
In the late 30's, F.SCOTT FITZGERALD and his friends made appearances worthy of heroes.
Main RAY, PICASSO, Paul ELUARD were guests at this tourist mecca on the French Riviera during those exciting times.
Reception

The Hotel Continental has opened on July 7, 1993. It was designed and built specifically to 3 Stars standard of comfort and facilities, yet retaining old ideals of quality and service. The Hotel is air-conditioned and has its own private locked garage in the basement with direct lift acces to the reception area and bedrooms.

Location

Saint Raphaël is halfway between Saint Tropez and Cannes, which is about 20 miles by car.
The A8 motorway is the quickest ; the RN7 is through the country and leisurely, with beautiful landscapes.
The "Corniche d'Or", that winds around the Coastline, provides scenery that is quite superb, including the deep blues of the Mediterranean Sea contrasting with the reddish browns of the Esterel hills.
Holding the licence as professional company given by the Ministère des transports offers renting an air conditionned vehicles - 8 seats - plus driver for any kind of transfers and excursions.
