Austin's Saint-Lazare Hotel - Paris - Opéra Garnier

Opéra Garnier

No doubt the best example of the architectural splendour of the Second Empire, the Garnier Opera is one of the largest old opera houses (11,000 square meters).

Le Sacré Cœur

In the evocation of Montmartre, we think of the numerous artists attracted by the pitoresque site and omnipresent since the end of the 19th century.
From an ethymologic point of view, Montmartre indicates the " mountain of the martyrs ". Before the costruction of the basilica of the Sacred Heart, in a style Byzantine romano, the hill was a small village situated outside surrounding walls strengthened by Paris.
The basilica is the metaphor of the condemnation of the sins of the inhabitants of Paris: sinned which would have caused the defeat of the French army in front of the Prussia in 1870.
