The district of The Bastille is famous at the same moment for its History, but also for its Opera.
The Column of July dominates the Place the Bastille. It marks the site of the prison of the Bastille which was taken by assault by the crowd in 1789 at the beginning of the French Revolution. In the subway station, below the place, we can always see stones which constituted the foundations of the Bastille. |
