In the heart of the town, "Le Grand Hôtel des Terreaux ***" is one of the oldest hostels in Lyon . It has been fully renovated and is remarkably well situated; it is only a few minutes walk from the Opera, from the Célestins Theater, the Fine Arts Museum, Old Lyon and all the entertainments and cultural life of the city centre.
A past to be proud of
This vernerable former mansio in Terreaux neighbourhood has preserved a rich heritage featuring, among other things, stones from on old local church in the swimming pool and on 18 th centuriy staircase. A coaching inn in the 19 th century, it became in the 20th an elegant hotel gleaming with marble and precious woods. |

This piece of earth, which reunites the commercial centre of Lyon around the “Place Bellecour”, stretches out between the Rhone and the Saone. With its varied restaurants, its luxurious shops and its antique stores, this stripe of earth encircled by water became well known and loved. It also shelters the Museum of Sheets, inside a beautiful mansion. It holds a vast collection of sheets and invites us to discover the history of weaving in the Orient and Occident.
